Support Groups
Often individuals may share a common traumatic or difficult experience. These include war, natural disasters, various types of abuse (physical, sexual, spiritual), etc. For some, these experiences are minimally disturbing. For others, they can be devastating and reap havoc in their lives. One might lose peace of mind, become anxious, angry, or depressed. When this occurs, participating in Group Counseling or a Support Group can be a very effective and powerful means of facilitating healing and resolution.
Recently, the Lord has opened a door for ministry to individuals and families transitioning out of various churches where an inappropriate use of authority and/or “lording over” has occurred. In an effort to address the negative repercussions of these experiences, Symboulos Ministries has begun the process of scheduling appointments with individuals interested in receiving counseling. Our goal is to promote healing, resolution, and freedom in Christ. As these individual sessions conclude, some may find it helpful and necessary to transition into a local Support Group, where gains made in individual counseling can be fostered and supported.
If you have an interest in participating in individual counseling as a precursor to becoming involved in a local Support Group, please fill out the Confidential Contact Form. Please note in the comment section of the form your interest in participating in a Support Group in your area.
Support Groups will meet once a week, (day and time to be determined) for six consecutive weeks. Each session will last approximately 1.5 hours. The maximum number for each group is ideally 8-10 participants. Additional groups can be added as necessary.
